Its been a long time since I posted on here. Not all that much to say though. I've been under a ton of stress from all kinds of things, which has really clamped down my creative vein, but I'll pull through it eventually. As for Adam, we've been getting along great, interned with him for a second semester for a block a day. Unfortunately we haven't been able to talk one-on-one as much because its during his actual classes, but its all good because I'm getting to do more to help him out and I've been teaching lessons once a week. We've spent some time outside of school though. Which is really nice. Two months or so ago he took me and Vinisha out to dinner and a movie (kept buying for us, and we kept trying to beat him, I threw money at him when he dropped me off though so he couldn't refuse it XD). It was pretty freaking epic. And then him, me, Vini, and Gus are going to see Watchmen come Friday. I think Gus invited like, five other people though (which will royally piss me off) but they may not all come. They're all people I like, but I don't want a crowd. Even though I love Vini she's been sort of taking advantage of Russell because she hasn't come for her internship in well over a month or two. Its going to make things awk. I'm really just using it as an excuse to spend some quality time with him, since I haven't had the chance lately. On top of the time we've spent outside of school he also wrote me a really wonderful recommendation letter for GCSU, and on my birthday he gave me this card that had a lot of nice things in it as well. I took the chance during his birthday and christmas to write him something back, basically reiterating what a great role model he's been, and to believe in himself more. He's a great man, I just hope he realizes it. Ok, enough girly gushing over Russell. Moving on to college stuff.
I've decided that I want to be a teacher, both because I love literature and teaching, but because so many teachers have been there for me in the past, and I wouldn't be here without them. I've had a rougher life than most, but I'm stronger because of it, and I want to be able to help out kids who really need someone to turn to, as my teachers have supported me.
That being said I'm headed to GCSU in the fall. I'm really getting excited about it. The only issue right now is that I'm not sure which major to go with. Its either a BS in Middle School Education (all MS majors have dual specialization in English and something else) or a BA in English. From who I've talked to the best route for English is a BA then MAT, but thats an extra year and I can't really get a job with a BA in English. However, with an MAT I can move between 6-12 while the BS will get me stuck in middle school (unless I get a MED after). The Middle School education will be mediocre as far as the english goes, because its required for everyone, and I'd get very few classes in English. The way it works out I'd actually have a lot more social studies. But at least I'd be sure to get a job right out of college after only 4 years. It would also be a lot easier. So long as I'm sure to follow up with the MED shortly after, I'll be fine.
So just this week I'm juggling two research papers, a CAS folder (documenting my 150 hours of service for IB), five chemistry labs, and As I Lay Dying (which by the way is really, really good.) Just got to soldier on.
Take care guys.

I keep dreaming of this alternate life...

Let not these sour notes ruin the symphony to come
For it is in rotting stumps that new trees grow strong
"The old man with the beard was god, and the little purple lady (Satan), killed him."
--
A priest, a rabbi, and a minister walk into a bar. The bartender says, "What is this, some kind of joke?"
I appreciate it though, as always.

Due to recent cutbacks and until further notice, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.
